Systems Consultant (Team Leader) - Due to exceptional growth in our Gladstone area business we are seeking to recruit a Systems Consultant into our support team with an emphasis on managing client networks, servers and other business technology. The successful candidate will oversee the transition of support for our Gladstone, Boyne Island and Tannum Sands customer base to the local branch, and then work to maintain current relationships whilst identifying new opportunities.

The ideal candidate for this job would be a mature individual with demonstrated ability to self-manage workloads for multiple customers and multiple projects, with excellent communication skills and a results-oriented outlook. A history of not creating spectacularly enormous disasters is preferred.

This will be an exciting opportunity for the right person, especially if they have previous management experience, or a desire and willingness to fill the role of team leader in a group of technical people.

Salary package is negotiable and may include a work vehicle and/or regular confectionary. A t-shirt with a ninja on it is practically guaranteed.

January 12, 2012 - Windows, Exchange, VMware Administrator (Brisbane CBD)

Systems Consultant (Windows, Exchange, VMware Administrator) - Want to make the move to the kind of environment where you can make a difference? We're looking for a talented sysadmin to join our team in Brisbane that's really good at doing IT-related things and won't embarrass us.

You would ideally have competent Windows and Exchange administration skills, and a familiarity with VMware vSphere, Cisco or Citrix would be ideal.

This position is based in the Brisbane CBD onsite with one of our customers. Excellent communication and personal skills are required as you will liase with senior members of the customer's management team frequently.

6 month contract to start with, expected to extend. Rate is around $45 per hour, depending on the extent of your awesomeness.

We're a small, multi-skilled group of professionals that provide IT and Technology project expertise and operational support for a large and varied customer base throughout Queensland. Based in Rockhampton - with a presence in Gladstone and Brisbane - we specialise in Microsoft, Citrix and VMware software technologies on top of HP and Cisco enterprise networking, server and storage architectures. We're a relatively young and dynamic team constantly developing new skills and capabilities.

Our work environment is usually fairly relaxed, with free soft drinks and coffee, quarterly work-funded events, occasional pub lunches... and an arcade machine. We supply decent computing hardware, a modern smartphone, uniforms and other work-related materials as needed.

Our internal systems are as bleeding-edge up-to-date as you can get and through our various vendor partnerships we generally have access to new products before the general public.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a range of skills that would enable them to interract with customers successfully on a day to day basis. Attributes such as intelligence, self-motivation, and a positive attitude with an ability to completely and successfully follow through on tasks and projects would put you ahead of the pack. Basic customer service skills when presenting in person, on the telephone and through email is critical, as is the ability to prioritise and manage workloads when things get busy.

We require existing skills with Microsoft Windows operating systems in a business environment and previous experience with Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Small Business Server or similar are always well regarded, as are general system administration skills. Any experience in the following areas would be a bonus:

• Previous experience on an IT service desk, desktop support role or 2nd level support role;
• Knowledge or understanding of the principles behind the ITIL framework or some other change control methodology;
• Knowledge or experience of thin client environments, computer virtualisation, storage area networks, or data communications;

We'd prefer that you were Microsoft certified, but it's not a show-stopper. We do require it within the first 3 months of employment though and we'll support you through the process. Any other vendor certifications are a bonus of course. We actively encourage technology specialisation and if you are willing and capable to learn new things, we'll support your efforts.
